The Fargo Moorhead Redhawks were looking for the series win this afternoon in Milwaukee, after taking last night’s game 6-4 in extra innings. It would be a low scoring affair in the final game of a 9 game road trip for Fargo Moorhead.
Redhawks rookie Aiden Byrne, who played college baseball at Minnesota State University of Mankato, would put the Redhawks on the board first, thanks to an RBI single in the top of the 3rd. He would go 2-4 in the game. In the bottom of the 4th, Milwaukee would tie things back at 1 with a solo shot off the bat of Erik Ostberg. That would be all for both teams the rest of the way, as Redhawks pitcher Tyler Jandron, would go 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, no walks, while striking out 5.
Fast forward to the top of the 10th, Fargo Moorhead was looking to break the tie, and they would. Peter Brookshaw would plate a run to make it 2-1 on an RBI groundout. But Fargo Moorhead wasn’t done. Robert Perez Jr., would rip an RBI single, making it 3-1 in the same 10th inning. This would set the table up for closer, Alex Dubord, to slam the door on Milwaukee. He would do just that, and the Redhawks would go on to win 3-1.
The Redhawks go 6-3 on the 9 game road trip, win the series against Milwaukee, and finally head home to Newman Outdoor Field. They are set to start a 4 game series against the Kansas City Monarchs beginning tomorrow.
The pregame show tomorrow begins at 6:40 PM on AM 740 The Fan KNFL Fargo/107.3 FM.
