After an 8-7 loss last night to the Milwaukee Milkmen, the Fargo Moorhead Redhawks were looking for redemption in Franklin, Wisconsin. Milwaukee, on the other hand, was trying to win the series.
In the bottom of the first, Milwaukee’s Scott Ota would club a solo shot to give the Milkmen a 1-0 lead. Milwaukee would keep slugging, as in the bottom of the 3rd, Erik Ostberg would hit a solo shot, and Milwaukee would grab a 2-0 lead. However, the next half inning, was when Fargo Moorhead started to throw some punches.
In the top of the 4th, Dillion Thomas would slash an RBI single to put Fargo Moorhead on the board. Then, the Redhawks tied the game at 2 thanks to Peter Brookshaw driving in a run on a groundout. The kicker, was that Fargo-Moorhead was not done. Marcus Chiu would hit a 2-run single into left field to give the Redhawks a 4-2 4th inning lead. The Milkmen would counter with 2 more runs in the bottom half of the 4th. They would get a run from a wild pitch and then an RBI single by Scott Ota. That would tie the game at 4.
Going into the top of the 6th, it was still a 4-4 tie. But, Fargo Moorhead was looking to take the lead. Milwaukee would commit a throwing error that would lead to 2 runs scoring. They would hang on to win the 2nd game of the series 6-4. Kyle Johnston would get the win in relief, Alex Dubord picked up another save, and Logan Snow would get the loss.
Fargo Moorhead looks for the series win tomorrow afternoon, as it is their final game of the 9 game road trip. They start a home series on Tuesday against the Kansas City Monarchs.
