The Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks were taking on the Gary SouthShore Railcats in Game 2 of their 3 game series. Fargo-Moorhead recently took Game 1 on Monday 3-1. Tonight, it would be a very similar story.
Kyle Crigger, a former Miami Marlins product, was on the bump for the Redhawks, and right out of the gate, he was excellent. Through the first 3 innings, he had faced the minimum of batters in Gary’s lineup. Then, he got through the 4th inning unscathed. The kicker, was that he had not given up a single baserunner through 4 innings. The same would apply in the 5th inning. It was officially a perfect game watch for Kyle Crigger through 5 innings. However, Eric Meza would end the perfect game in the bottom of the 6th inning with a base hit to right field. Crigger would go 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up only 1 hit, 1 walk, while striking out 7.
The Redhawks would get insurance from Robert Perez Jr. on an RBI ground out, and Marcus Chiu would plate a run thanks to a sacrifice fly.
Fargo-Moorhead is looking for the series sweep tomorrow evening. They will hit the road to Milwaukee for a 3 game series starting Friday to conclude their 9 game road trip.
