LEAL, N.D. (KFGO/News Dakota) – 12 people were exposed to anhydrous ammonia after a leak at a farm chemical distribution site plant near the town of Leal, North Dakota Wednesday afternoon.
Barnes County Emergency Manager Jessica Jenrich says the leak at the Nutrien distribution site about 1 mile southwest of Leal was quickly contained by employees before first responders arrived just after 12:30.
Jenrich says three people were taken to the hospital in Valley City for observation. No serious injuries were reported. Several agencies responded to the call.
Leal is about 10 miles northwest of Valley City.
