The RedHawks rallied after trailing most of the game Tuesday morning into the afternoon for a “School Day” special in front of 4090 fans at Newman Outdoor Field to win 5-4 over the Kansas City Monarchs. With Fargo-Moorhead trailing 3-1, Kona Quiggle had a two RBI double to tie things up 3-3 in the fourth inning before Juan Fernandez beat out a single to score Quiggle from third to give the RedHawks a 4-3 lead. Ismael Alcantara eventually drove Fernandez home to extend the lead to 5-4. The RedHawks held onto that lead until the top of the ninth, where closer Garrett Alexander gave up a run, but was able to limit the damage and pull out the victory to secure the series win for the home team. The RedHawks will finish out the series with the defending American Association Champion Monarchs Wednesday night with a 7:03pm first pitch.
