DELANO, Minn – Minnesota Congressman Tom Emmer remains loyal to Donald Trump despite the former president derailing his bid for U.S. House speaker.
The House majority whip said in a social media post, “It’s time for Republicans to unite behind our party’s clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President.”
Trump campaigned against Emmer when he was nominated to replace House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, with Trump calling Emmer, “a RINO (Republican in name only) who’s totally out of touch with Republican voters.”
The Iowa Republican caucuses are less than two weeks away.
