HASTINGS, Minn. – A St. Louis Park man has been sentenced to more than 47 years in prison for the deaths of his pregnant girlfriend and her newborn son last January.
Dakota County prosecutors said Donte McCray, 33, admitted to shooting Kyla O’Neal, 31, outside the Amazon warehouse in Lakeville. Doctors delivered O’Neal’s baby before she died, but Messiah was taken off life support nine days later.
McCray pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder.
He was ordered to serve consecutive sentences of 25 ½ years for the murder of Kyla O’Neal and just under 22 years for the death of Messiah.
