Minot defeated Shanley for their first state football championship in 43 years with a wild come from behind 38-35 win at the Fargodome. In one of the most amazing comebacks in Dakota Bowl history, the Magicians came back from a 21 point deficit in the third quarter to drive down for a game winning Kellan Burke 20 yard field goal with two seconds. Burke also was the hero defensively, tying the game up 35-35 with an interception returned for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to erase the deficit Minot was dealing with most of the game.
