ST. JAMES, MINN. – A convicted rapist who escaped from the Watonwan County Jail in southern Minnesota on Monday is now back in custody.
Following leads, deputies stopped a vehicle 36-year-old Leonardo Lopez Jr. was in. When pulled over, Lopez Jr. fled on foot and was later tracked into a field and arrested.
The two other occupants of the car were also taken into custody for aiding Lopez, who is now facing additional charges.
