MINNEAPOLIS – Four men are facing federal charges for their alleged roles in a $21 million scheme to transport stolen catalytic converters across state lines.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota says 41-year-old John Kotten of Hutchinson, 34-year-old James D. Jensen of Minneapolis, 32-year-old Justin T. Johnson, and 31-year-old Soe Moo of St. Paul were indicted on multiple counts Tuesday.
Prosecutors say street-level cutters stole catalytic converters from vehicles throughout Minnesota and transferred them to Kotten or Johnson. The defendants are accused of transporting the catalytic converters to high-volume buyers in New Jersey, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New York.
