MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) – Some construction projects in the City of Moorhead are causing rusty water to temporarily flow from faucets, and officials with Public Service are advising residents on what to do if that happens.
The problem stems from water main replacements, and is currently affecting those living near 14th Street S. between 20th and 24th Avenues, 11th Street S. between 2nd and 6th Avenues, and 1st Street between 6th and 12th Avenues.
If you see discolored water coming from any of your faucets, Jake Long with Moorhead Public Service says to run cold water for a few minutes.
If the water isn’t cleared up after a couple of hours, Long says to call the city and they will send someone to help with the problem.
