DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO) – The principal of Wahpeton High School is among three finalists for Devils Lake school superintendent.
On Monday, the School Board said interviews were offered to Ned Clooten, Dakota Prairie Superintendent Jay Slade, and Drayton Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Peterson.
Devils Lake’s current superintendent, Matt Bakke, submitted his resignation last month. He is under contract for next year, but accepted a job with the Grand Forks School District. After Bakke submitted his resignation, the board opted to table it rather than accept it and voted to begin the process of finding a replacement.
In an updated resignation letter, Bakke said he plans to leave the Devils Lake School District on July 28th.
The School Board has yet to accept Bakke’s resignation. Their next meeting is scheduled for July 19th.
