PINE CITY, Minn. – The sentence is more than 32 years in prison for a Chisago City man convicted of shooting and killing a man near Hinckley last September.
37-year-old John Quitter was found guilty of 2nd degree murder in the death of Colton Abbott of Sandstone. Quitter initially claimed that he shot Abbott accidentially, while hunting.
He dropped Abbott off at a hospital emergency room and left.
Abbott suffered more than 250 BB wounds. Quitter was arrested after a high-speed pursuit.
