FORT PIERRE, S.D. (KFGO KWAT) – The South Dakota State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a house explosion that killed three people.
The house near the town of Fort Pierre exploded around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Stanley County Sheriff Brad Rathbun said neighbors in the rural area heard the blast and alerted authorities. The home was completely leveled in the explosion, which is under investigation.
GoFundMe account has been set up for the Hupp family. Trevor and Kelsey Hupp were at work when the explosion happened at their home southeast of Fort Pierre in central South Dakota. The blast killed their infant daughter, Harper, and both of Trevor’s parents, Bill and LaDonna. Their sons Myles (5) and Royce (3) were airlifted to a burn unit in Minnesota.
