FARGO (KFGO) – There was a large police presence for a few hours across a swath of residential South Fargo Wednesday night after a man wanted on warrants fled from officers.
Fargo Police say members of the department’s Street Crimes Unit attempted to make contact with the man after spotting him in a vehicle but he fled on foot. For the next nearly three hours, officers including several K-9 units conducted a search by foot for the suspect, who was described as a Native American wearing a maroon shirt and black shorts, between 13th Ave. and 5th Ave. S. and 14th St. and 18th St. S.
A shelter-in-place advisory was put out for the area on social media, with police telling residents to stay in their homes and avoid making contact with anyone matching the suspect’s description. Police said if anyone did see the man, they should refrain from approaching or attempting to apprehend him.
The search was called off just before midnight.
