GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – An Amtrak Empire Builder train was delayed for a couple of hours Thursday morning just west of Grand Forks after it hit a pick-up that was parked on the tracks.
The collision happened at 7:18 a.m. Thursday. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says the pick-up was unoccupied when the train hit it but the people who had previously been inside the vehicle were nearby. He said there were no injuries to the crew or 184 passengers who were on board the train at the time.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
