WALHALLA, N.D. (KFGO) – Frost Fire Summer Theatre near Walhalla has canceled its 39th annual summer production because of damage to its amphitheater caused by heavy snow. A late April snowstorm caused the amphitheater’s roof and side walls to collapse.
Board member Darrin Longtin said since extensive repairs are needed, the decision was made to cancel this year’s production of “Little House on the Prairie, the Musical,” which was scheduled to run from June 24 until Aug. 2.
The theatre is accepting donations. Anyone who purchased tickets will be contacted about a refund.
Despite the closure of the stage, the theatre will still hold its two summer day camps in the lodge in June and August.
