EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (KNOX KFGO) – A sentencing date is scheduled April 18th for an East Grand Forks man charged with felony discharge of a firearm within a municipality.
76-year old Michael Powers was arrested after police say he fired a rifle that hit a home on December 4th. At the time of his arrest authorities say Powers told them he had shot at squirrels because he said he considered it “war” when they got into his bird feeder.
Police recovered two .22-caliber rounds from the siding of a neighbor’s home and one from a bedroom window ledge.
Powers pleaded guilty to the charge on Tuesday.
