(UND Athletics) GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Graduate student defenseman Chris Jandric has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, the club announced on Monday.
Jandric is set to join the Americans, who serve as the AHL affiliate for the Buffalo Sabres, immediately.
The Prince George, B.C., native put together one of the best offensive seasons by a defenseman in recent memory for North Dakota, totaling 33 points in 39 games. Jandric became the first blue liner at NoDak to cross the 30-point plateau since Christian Wolanin in 2017-18 and ended the regular season ranked among the top-5 for scoring by a defenseman in the nation.
In league play, Jandric led all NCHC blueliners in conference play with 21 points in 24 games, while his 18 assists tied for first among defensemen and tied for third among all skaters to earn All-NCHC First Team honors.
Jandric, who began his career at Alaska, finishes with 13 goals and 72 assists for 85 points in 139 games played over four seasons.
