(UND Athletics) GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head football coach Bubba Schweigert announced Saturday that UND defensive coordinator Brett Holinka has informed him of his intention to resign.
“Coach Holinka informed me that he will be resigning to pursue other opportunities,” said Coach Schweigert. “We appreciate all that Brett contributed to our program as a position coach and the last three seasons as the leader of our defense. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
The team was notified of Holinka’s intention to resign during a team building activity Saturday morning. Holinka spent three years as the defensive coordinator after being elevated from coaching the linebackers in 2019. Holinka also played linebacker at North Dakota from 2005-08 and was named All-North Central Conference twice.
UND will begin a national search for its next defensive coordinator immediately.
