(NDSU Athletics) OMAHA, Neb. – North Dakota State junior Boden Skunberg erupted for a career-high 25 points on 7-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc, lifting the Bison men’s basketball team to a 78-65 road win over Omaha on Saturday afternoon. It was the fifth straight win for the Bison, who improved to 5-2 in The Summit League.
Skunberg drained a career-best seven three-pointers, including an electric stretch of three treys in less than two minutes to take control of the game in the second half.
Sophomore Andrew Morgan added 15 points for NDSU, and freshman Damari Wheeler-Thomas scored 13. Jacari White had 11 points, three blocks and three steals.
Omaha led 29-28 at halftime. The Bison opened the second half with three-pointers from White and Skunberg, and never trailed again. Leading 42-39 with 14 minutes left, NDSU rattled off a 12-2 run to go ahead by 13.
Grant Nelson finished with nine points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals.
It was NDSU’s eighth consecutive victory in the series against Omaha.
The Bison will return home to host Oral Roberts on Thursday, Jan. 19, and Kansas City on Saturday, Jan. 21.
