(KFGO/KNFL) The Fargo Force won its fifth consecutive game on Friday night with a 6-3 victory over the Omaha Lancers at Scheels Arena.
Cole Knuble scored two 3rd period goals and added an assist for Fargo, while Mac Swanson added four assists. The four assists tie the most by anyone in a game this season in the USHL. Knuble had four assists on November 17th versus Sioux Falls.
Tied 2-2 in the 2nd period, the Force took the lead as German Yavash scored on a wrist shot from the slot at 14:34 for a power-play goal and a 3-2 Fargo lead. Anthony Menghini added a goal at 8:28 of the 3rd period to make it 4-2. Menghini now has nine straight games with at least one point. Omaha’s Ryan Kusler trimmed the lead to 4-3 23 seconds later. Knuble sealed the Fargo victory with first a power-play goal with 2:08 left, then an empty-netter in the final minute.
Anton Castro recorded 29 saves in net for the Force. Fargo is now 3-0 versus Omaha this season.
