WILLISTON, N.D. (KFGO) – Williams County Deputies have arrested a man for assault and attempted murder after he attacked two people with a knife in Williston early Sunday.
County Deputies and members of the Williston Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a knife at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston just before 1am Sunday where a 15-year-old boy was suffering from a severe laceration to his throat and a 44-year-old man had a cut on his hand.
After the initial investigation, Deputies went to Highway 1804 and 132nd Lane NW in Williston, where the incident was said to have occurred. Along with members of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, they canvassed the area and located the suspect, 40-year-old Casey Wayne Heller of Williston.
Heller was arrested without incident and is currently being held at the Williams County Correctional Center on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.
The boy was airlifted to another hospital for his injuries and is recovering. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
