(KNFL/KFGO) The Fargo Jets and the Casselton Haymakers picked up wins on Monday and will meet for the Class A State American Legion baseball title on Tuesday in Watford City.
The Jets rallied for three runs in the top of the 7th for a 4-2 win over the Bismarck Senators. Alex Such and Anthony Erickson each added a run-producing hit in the 7th.
Cole Hanson picked up the win in relief for the Jets, while Ozzie Eagan recorded the final two outs for the save.
Casselton scored four runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, highlighted by a Max Kobbervig 3-run homer in a 7-1 win over Kindred. The Vikings are eliminated from the tournament.
Casselton’s Jaxon Parker held the Vikings to six hits and no earned runs over six innings of pitching.
The Jets and Haymakers will play Tuesday at 10 AM Tuesday in Watford City. If Casselton wins, they’ll take home the state title. A Jets win would force a 2nd title game immediately following.
