FARGO (KFGO) – The Fargo Police Department has identified the victim involved in the critical incident on Friday, July 8, as Shane Netterville, a 28-year-old Native American man who was last known to reside in Jamestown, ND. Netterville was transported from the scene to a local healthcare facility, where he later died.
FPD Officer Adam O’Brien, an eleven-year veteran of the Fargo Police Department, has been placed on paid administrative leave while the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation investigates the officer’s use of force.
The Fargo Police Department’s standard operating procedure is to place officers involved in officer-involved shootings on paid administrative leave until the investigation into the use of force has been completed.
