MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and State Patrol will continue significant efforts to combat violent crime in Minneapolis and surrounding communities.
The State Patrol is assigning 20 more troopers and aviation resources this weekend in response to a rise in violent crime and street racing over the 4th of July weekend.
The BCA has opened 93 cases, made 171 arrests, and seized 109 guns in Minneapolis since April. Twelve BCA investigators and one criminal analyst will be conducting homicide and gun crime investigations through September.
