HAM LAKE, Minn. – Minnesota State Senator Michelle Benson suspended her campaign for governor Friday.
Benson also said in a statement she will not seek reelection for her senate seat. The 53-year-old from Ham Lake has been in the state senate since 2010. She currently chairs the Human Services Licensing Policy Committee.
Benson’s statement said she looks forward to selecting the right candidate for Republicans to get behind and defeat Gov. Tim Walz in the fall.
