DODGE CENTER, Minn. – A southeast Minnesota man is pleading guilty to impersonating a federal officer and possession of firearms as a felon.
The U-S Attorney’s Office says 53-year-old Devon Simmons of Dodge Center admitted to pretending to be a Department of Homeland Security agent last August. Court records say authorities discovered a “go bag” with a Homeland Security logo that contained a Glock handgun, fake badge, and other items when Simmons was arrested.
Police also found a hidden safe room on his property, seven guns, silencers, an explosive detonating cord, body armor, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Simmons’ sentencing hearing hasn’t been scheduled.
