Enderlin slogged through a sloppy first half by their standards, but they woke up in the second half to win convincingly over Northern Cass 71-55.
The Jaguars held a 23-21 lead at hafltime at the backs of some superb defense and streaky 3-point shooting. However, the Eagles went on an 18-0 run in the third quarter to seize control of the game and never looked back.
Enderlin’s Joe Hurlburt poured in 24 points to lead all scorers; he also grabbed 15 rebounds. Guard Trey Wall scored 13 second half points to finish with 15.
Leighton Strommen paced the Jaguars with 21 points. Northern Cass struggled offensively in the second half, shooting 32% from the field.
The Eagles improve to 8-3 on the season and take on Central Cass Monday, Jan.24th.
The Jaguars fall to 5-4 on the season and take on Drayton/Valley-Edinburg on Tuesday, Jan. 25th.
