ST. PAUL, MINN. – A report showing Amazon warehouse workers in Minnesota are more than twice as likely to be injured on the job as workers in other warehouses, has state Representative Emma Greenman pushing for hearings and pledging to introduce legislation as needed.
The Minneapolis Democrat says believes Minnesota law in that case should protect these workers and should get them what they need. Greenman says, “if that’s not happening, we need to figure out why.”
Minnesota House Republicans declined to comment. Earlier this year Amazon C-E-O Jeff Bezos said that the company needs to “do a better job for our employees” and Amazon reiterated its goal to cut worker injuries by 50 percent by 2025.
