
The North Dakota State volleyball team (8-11, 2-5 Summit) is back on the road at South Dakota State (11-6, 3-3 Summit) on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Bison will close the week hosting North Dakota (1-18, 0-7 Summit) at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
LOOKING BACK
NDSU is 2-2 in its last four matches entering the week. Last week, the Bison came up short against Denver, 3-0. Kaylee Hanger led the way with a team-high 14 digs to become the 26th player in program history to reach the 1,000 career digs mark. NDSU wrapped up the week dropping a 3-1 decision to Omaha. Ali Hinze paced the Bison logging her ninth double-double of the season with 18 kills and 13 digs.
90 MATCHES AND COUNTING
Kaylee Hanger continues to leave her mark in Bison history. After becoming the 26th player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs, she is now closing in on her 100th career match. Sheโs appeared in 95 career matches over her four year career.
SERVINโ UP SOME ACES
NDSU has connected on 121 service aces this season, which leads the Summit League and ranks 20th in the nation. Ava Schmoll is slotted fourth in the Summit League in service aces per set with 0.37.
A DYNAMIC DUO
Ali Hinze leads the Summit League in kills with 241, while Syra Tanchin is slotted fourth with 232 kills. North Dakota State is the only team in the Summit League to have two players slotted inside the top five in total kills and also the only team to have two different players reach the 200-kill mark this season.
OFFENSIVE POWER
The Bison have tallied 884 total kills this season, which ranks second in Summit League and 43rd in the nation. The Bison connected on a season-high 70 kills in the win over Western Illinois.
DIRECTING TRAFFIC
The Bison rank second in the Summit League in total assists this season with 815 and are averaging 11.48 per set. Raegen Reilly paces NDSU passing out a team-best 434
assists this season, while Kelley Johnson has added in 272.
DENIED AT THE NET
Michelle Glover is slotted third in the Summit League in total blocks with 69.0 this season. Sheโs contributed three or more blocks in 14 matches this season and posted a season-high eight blocks in the season opener against UNI.
BATTLING ON DEFENSE
The Bison have battled on the defensive side of the court this season logging eight matches with 50 or more digs, including a season-high 89 in the win over Western Illinois. The Bison rank third in the Summit League in digs with 1,035 this season. Kaylee Hanger is positioned sixth in the Summit League with a team-high 221 digs.
THE SERIES VS. SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
This will be the 102nd all-time meeting between the Bison and the Jackrabbits dating back to 1974 with NDSU leading, 81-20. NDSU has won the last two matches after back-to-back sweeps at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse last season. In their most recent encounter, the Bison swept the Jackrabbits, 3-0, behind a match-high 13 kills from Ali Hinze.
