THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State volleyball team (6-8, 0-2 Summit) is back on the road at South Dakota (4-6, 1-0 Summit) on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Bison will continue their road swing at Western Illinois (1-12, 0-2 Summit) on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., before wrapping the week at St. Thomas (1-11, 0-2 Summit) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Bison are back on the road again and will play 15 of their first 17 matches away from home. NDSU played its first 12 matches of the season on the road before opening its home schedule last weekend against Kansas City and Oral Roberts.
LOOKING BACK AT LAST WEEKEND
NDSU began Summit League play falling short to Kansas City, 3-1, at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. Ali Hinze paced the Bison with her seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 17 kills and 10 digs.
The Bison wrapped up the weekend dropping a 3-0 decision to Oral Roberts. Syra Tanchin led the way for NDSU totaling a match-high 11 kills and registering a .476 hitting percentage.
SERVIN’ UP SOME ACES
NDSU connected on a season-best 10 service aces against Kansas City. Abby Stark recorded a match-high four service aces, while Ali Hinze also chipped in three of her own. As a team, the Bison are positioned second in the Summit League in service aces with 92.
TANCHIN IS ROLLING
Syra Tanchin has reached double figures in kills in her last eight matches, which is the longest streak of her career. She’s tallied double digits in kills a team-high 11 times this season, including a career-high 21 at Green Bay.
A DYNAMIC DUO
Ali Hinze ranks fourth in the Summit League in total kills with 173, while Syra Tanchin is positioned fifth with 168 kills. North Dakota State is the only team in the Summit League to have two players slotted inside the top five in total kills.
SPEAKING OF DEFENSE
The Bison have battled on the defensive side of the court this season logging eight matches with 50 or more digs, including a season-high 73 against Charlottte. The Bison rank third in the Summit League in digs with 770 this season. Kaylee Hanger is positioned sixth in the Summit League with a team-high 160 digs.
DIRECTING TRAFFIC
Raegen Reilly has distributed a team-high 384 assists this season, which ranks fourth in the Summit League. She’s passed out 40 or more assists in five matches this season, including a season-high 51 in the win at Green Bay.
DENIED AT THE NET
Michelle Glover is slotted second in the Summit League in total blocks with 52.0 this season. She’s contributed three or more blocks in 10 matches this season and posted a season-high eight blocks in the season opener against UNI.
HANGER KEEPS CLIMBING
Kaylee Hanger has reached double digits in digs in nine matches this season and pushed her career total to 951 over four seasons, which ranks 28th in Bison history.
THE SERIES VS. SOUTH DAKOTA
This will be the 71st meeting between NDSU and South Dakota dating back to 1978 with the Bison leading the all-time series, 50-20. In the most recent meeting between these two programs last season, NDSU fell short on the road at South Dakota, 3-0. Ali Hinze notched a double-double with a team-best 12 kills and 11 digs.
