FARGO (KFGO) – A petition drive to recall four members of the Fargo School Board has come up short.
The school district says its review of the petitions found that while more than enough signatures were submitted, many of them were rejected.
The district says there were inadequate signatures, out-of-district addresses, no date, city and zip code information was missing and there were notary mistakes.
Those behind the recall campaign cited a number of reasons for launching the recall, including the stance of some board members on face mask requirements in school buildings. They also accused the board members of not listening to their concerns. Board members targeted for recall were Nikkie Gullickson, Seth Holden, Jim Johnson and Tracie Newman.
Some of those signing the petitions were from Horace, Harwood, Moorhead and Bismarck.
