MINNEAPOLIS – Leaders in both political parties are condemning comments by the chair of the Minneapolis DFL Party.
Devin Hogan called the 2020 burning of the 3rd Precinct police headquarters a “genuine revolutionary moment” for Minneapolis. The comment was included in an opinion piece entitled “The Cops Started It” that was published in the Southside Pride.
Hogan said the arson was an “act of pure righteousness to open new works of understanding.”
The chair of the Minnesota DFL said his party is not anti-law enforcement, just pro-public safety. Minnesota Republican Party chair Jennifer Carnahan said the comments show that “Democrats believe destruction is the pathway to change.”
