SIOUX FALLS S.D. – North Dakota State moved into the Summit League semifinals with a 69-65 win over Kansas City on Sunday night.
Bison freshman Grant Nelson ballooned the lead up to 52-30 following a dunk with 14:15 left to play in regulation, only to see the Kangaroos comeback on a feverish run.
Kansas City cut the deficit down to two after Marvin Nesbitt Jr. made a jumper with 49 seconds left to play.
NDSU (14-11 overall) put the game away with two made free-throws from Tyree Eady with .7 seconds left in regulation.
Rocky Kreuser scored a game-high 16 points, Jarius Cook and Eady added 15 points for the Bison.
Josiah Allick finished with a game-high 23 points as the Kangaroos fall to 11-13 overall.
The Bison will play South Dakota on Monday at 8:45 p.m. in the semifinals from the Sanford Pentagon.
