MOORHEAD (KFGO) – With some of the coldest temperatures expected in two years, the Cass and Clay County sheriffs plan to go camping.
Sheriffs Jesse Jahner and Mark Empting will spend Friday night in a tent outside the American Legion Post in Moorhead as part of the “Frostival” event. They’re raising money and needed items for veterans to signify the estimated 22 veterans who commit suicide every day and raise awareness about homelessness among veterans.
During “Freezing for Good Reason,” donations to support veterans will be collected. The donations will be placed into an antique truck from Valley Vintage Car Club.
Everything collected will be given to the Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation and Churches United.
