FARGO (KFGO) – Severe thunderstorms rolled through parts of North Dakota into western Minnesota Tuesday night into Wed. morning, prompting warnings and advisories. There is damage in parts of western Minnesota.
The FM Metro missed most of the severe weather. At KFGO in south Fargo, the rainfall measurement was under a 1/2 inch.
In the Grand Forks area, 5 to 5.5 inches of rain was reported. There are reports of more than 10 inches near Arvilla, west of Grand Forks. More than 7 inches of rain fell near Leeds, North Dakota. 61 mph winds were reported northwest of Cooperstown, in Griggs County. Fergus Falls reported a wind gust of 62 mph around 3:30 a.m.
On Otter Tail Lake northeast of Fergus Falls, dozens of pontoons and boats were overturned and sections of docks were blown away. Damage was also reported on Big Pelican Lake. There were also scattered power outages.
South of Fergus Falls along County road 25, a county spokesperson said two buildings lost their roofs.
